I just started working on the port last night. I'm done with the 2d angled camera's for both 2d sections, but I will be adding more new objects to access other area. I will also give the option of using just the objects that were in bge. So far the level is only optimized for speed characters, but flying characters will be able to go through the level as well; I probably won't bother with power characters though. A video will come at a later date.
I'm also working on Aloix13's Ocean ruins, which is giving me a lot more trouble because it was made with 2d in mind. The only difference in that stage is that there's a spinner added above rails so that you can land on rails. I'll make the thread when I make more progress.

About ocean ruins the real problem will be is that you would have to code the rails and 2D camera has to change from lock2d - lockbb

The camera isn't actual 2d, in fact it's not 2d at all. It's a 3d camera placed to look like a 2d camera like love garden, that's one of the complications of this; It's not a straight line like planet wisp, instead there are multiple paths that curve and diverge, oh and the invisible walls.

It's been about a week and I think it's safe to showcase the changed objects. I've also decided only an xml for bge's layout will be included, the main level layout will be mostly original but will take lots of cues from sonic colors since I played through the game. The footage hasn't been recorded yet though so expect it sometime soon (or this week). Please keep in mind this is an important extremely early W.I.P so some objects don't work correctly yet.

You'll see that in my port of Speed Highway B (SonicDBZFan07). The stage should be hard. I might need to work on it more. The download is in Gold Victory Stage Release.
